Clobber Passages
So named because these are the Biblical passages used by many to prove the Bible condemns homosexuality. They are found in:
Genesis 19: 1-12
Levititicus 18:22 and 20:13
Deuteronomy 22:5
Romans 1:18-27 (but most only quote verses 26 & 27)
I Corinthians 6: 9-11
I Timothy 1: 8-10
Added to these is the Creation story which anti-gays use to prove that God made people exclusively heterosexual.
All of these ‘clobber’ passages are thoroughly discussed in my autobiography “Is God A Gay Basher?” and I give a different doctrine, based on interpretation (as do anti-gays), but moreso, on my experience as a Christian years before I knew I was lesbian.
